I contact you on behalf of the four epidemic control services in Belgium, one for each region or Community.

 

Following the discovery in Belgium earlier this year of birds infected by West Nile Virus and the presence of human cases detected in neighboring countries over the past years, we would like you to disseminate the attached letters to the Belgian Neurologists to raise their awareness on the risk, symptoms and diagnostic procedure relative to West Nile virus and concomitantly on Tick born Encephalitis during the transmission season of the year, from April to October.

 

This letter is also sent to infectiologists and intensive care societies.
